I have played around with the FreeBSD Linux Compat in FreeBSD 9.0 and 9.1. Since FreeBSD 9.0 it's possible to cruch Linux i686 binaries on FreeBSD x64 and i686. The most projects worked without any problem, not one project had any issues like aborts and pthread problems as on the older FreeBSD releases.

The howto is available at http://www.dotsch.de/boinc/BSD_Linux-Compat_howto.html.
The required clients for FreeBSD i686 and x64 with the secondary platform string for Linux at http://www.dotsch.de/boinc/BOINC%20Clients.html

Made some more tests with the Linux Compatibility on OpenBSD...

With OpenBSD 5.2 i386 and the usage of a more recent Linux package, I was able to crunch about 7 projects on OpenBSD (Albert, Asteroids, Einstein@home, MalariaControl, the Skynet POGS, World Community Grid, WUProp.)
The following projects does not worked: Constellation, Docking, Ibercivis, LHC@home, Ralph, Rosetta.
If you have some more projects which are working for you with the OpenBSD i386 Linux compat, please contact me.

Note: OpenBSD x64 does not have the Linux Compat!

The changes was updated within the new howtos, a actual BOINC client with the alternative platform string is also available on my homepage.

Hi,
What about make Boinc works with the Wii, of Nintendo ?
I read about Brook, in order to make graphics cards work for Boinc, but I have never pass to compile it.
Would it be possible ?
Best regards.

Hi Blondel,

you asked a good question! But, I think there is a problem, we need the Wii-Code. I donĀ“t know, if Nindendo will support this...

But, it would go, the Wii is an PC, he makes the same thinks, when I play a game on a PC. You had an better control on a PC...
And this is one Problem, "Who to control it?"

It works on PS3, so the Wii is possible, too. ;)
